The UK government has extended the use of exam aids, such as formula and equation sheets, for GCSE Math’s, Physics, and combined science until 2027.
Initially introduced due to learning disruptions from COVID-19, these aids were set to be discontinued after 2024 but will now remain for another three years.
Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson emphasized that this decision will support students still affected by pandemic-related learning gaps, while maintaining academic standards. Ofqual is consulting on further adaptations and will announce decisions after reviewing feedback.
